“I am an active duty member of the United States Navy working as a mass communications/ public affairs specialist and college student working to complete my Bachelor’s in Communications degree. I am also passionate about teaching others (civilian and military) how to cope and seek help.”

Dalia, 18.

“While I’m interested in mental health issues and psychology in general, English is my passion. My goal is to become an English professor someday, but my experiences in high school have inspired me to pursue a life of both literary pursuits and volunteerism. I know what it’s like to feel trapped by a mental illness, and I want to be there for others dealing with similar issues.”

Lauren, 23.

“I recently graduated from UCLA in Psychobiology and am currently taking a gap year to apply to medical schools. My days consist of studying for the MCAT and volunteering as a Clinical Care Extender Intern at Hoag Hospital under COPE Health Solutions. I ultimately want to help people. It really is such a scary and awful place to be in, and it hurts so much. Yet I want to reach out to those people and let them know they really are not alone.”

Melanie, 22.

“I graduated college last May with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and one of my greatest passions in life is to let others know that they matter and that life is worth living.”

Stephen, 21.

“I’m currently attending college and will start nursing school in January. I’ve felt like I didn’t matter in the past and I understand why people feel that way. Now, I love to inspire people.”
